UNTITLED (RISK OF BLINDNESS)
is a fine art replication of a cigarette pack. A CMYK screenprint makes up the left half and printed text in yellow and white completes the black right side.
Acrylic ink on panel, 16x20”, 2024.
This work was presented as part of a series with fellow artists Marguerite Morin (https://margueritemorinart.wixsite.com/margueritemorinart) and Bella Laflamme (https://blfineart.wixsite.com/blfineart) for a self-curated group show titled Artist Turns to Cigarette at the University of Ottawa’s Gallery 115.
Bella Laflamme, Chris Glabb, and Marguerite Morin present Artist Turns to Cigarette, an exhibition that speaks of cliché, bringing to life the stereotype of the smoking artist and highlighting with humour the cigarette as an artistic symbol. Having each curated their own (and each other’s) work, they invite you to their collaborative exhibition that inhabits the nicotine-stained world of the artist. Viewers are brought into a yellowed room with tobacco wafting through the air and a television droning in the background.
