UNTITLED 2-HEADED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
is a work which began with 6 images from Google, each depicting a different animal. The animals, a snake, cow, kitten, bird, deer, and turtle, each had a birth defect. The animals were 2-headed. First, I opened the JPEG as text files, showing all the code. I then asked ChatGPT to tell me a story about each of these animals. I used these stories to insert into the code of the images of the respective animals, distorting, pixelating, colouring and otherwise changing the image. I continued to insert, cut, reinsert, and recut the story into different parts of the code until the desired affect occurred. I repeated this 6 times, 1 time for each image. To finish the images, I opened them in Photoshop, blowing them up to 16x20” and printed them on Enhanced Matte Photo Paper. The final images become intentionally pixelated, embracing the flaws which most people try to avoid in their images. I displayed the images in a 2x3 image grid.
